President Asif Ali Zardari has acknowledged supremacy of the Parliament by addressing the joint session soon after his oath to the top office, Speaker of the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said on Saturday.
"The President has fulfilled his prime constitutional obligation today. It is the practical demonstration of his commitment to uphold the supremacy of constitutional institutions," Khuhro told mediapersons here at the Parliament House.
Lauding Zardari's pledge to extend provincial autonomy, Khuhro said the President has clearly shared his long term vision of strengthening the federation with legislators and,"now it is upto the Parliament and the Provincial Assemblies to discuss the matter and come up with recommendations."
