WASHINGTON ( 2008-09-16 22:11:38 ) :The top US military officer, Adm. Mike Mullen, went to Pakistan on Tuesday for an unannounced visit amid growing frustration in Washington over Islamabad's effort to clamp down on militant fighters along its shared border with Afghanistan.
"The chairman is in Pakistan today for meetings with senior civilian and military leaders," said Navy Capt. John Kirby, spokesman for the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.
